Art Exhibition

One of the acts of service I have performed during my time in IB was helping some of my fellow classmates with their art projects and exhibition. When one of my friends was creating a statue as one of his final pieces of art, I would come to his classroom while I had no classes and help him apply all the clay to the statue, and form it into the desired texture. Additionally, I was helping with the outline and somehow ended up being the outline and scale for the statue.

When the day of the exhibition arrived, I spent the whole day helping to set up the pieces of art, giving advice and another opinion, and just generally helping out wherever I could.

My goal here was very straightforward, helping out my friends to take off some of their workload and let them focus on their actual art. I found that when sharing, it is never only the receiver that gains. helping other people for no reason other then wanting them to have it easier is one of the best ways to help yourself as well, and I personally felt how refreshing it was for my mental health to get away from all of my problems and studies, and help someone else with theirs.
