Whenever I create a powerpoint for a class I'm in, I have this strange tendency and need to make it absolutely perfect. This leads to me often spending way to much time on them and purring more effort into the transitions, slides, and little details than it seems to be worth it. Due to this quirk of putting too much effort into my presentations they usually turn out quite well, and my classmates know that.
Thanks to that reputation of making good Presentations, two of my classmates have asked me to help create a presentation for their speech at the teacher developement event, which they were chosen for. Prior to the presentation I was also one of the many people helping them with timelapses of people studying and gicing my view on technology in the classroom.
When it comes to the presentation itself, I created a powerpoint that looks like it's being presented from a laptop within; opening videos, examples of their sites on tabs, and creating a very unique format with fitting effects and animations. I tuned all the details exactly to their liking, and additionally helped them insert and play videos through the presentation, as well as setting up and connecting a kahoot to it. All of this is not supposed to take away their efforts, which were visibly grand, with all the ideas about the actual topic, and the presenting coming from their side. I was simply the help they needed to put their genius ideas into the best format possible and to help pass them on to the audience while making it entertaining to watch.
What I've learned from this experience is how invested I get when helping others, often putting more effort into projects I help others with than those for myself. I'm sure there is some psychological way to analyze it, but the fact that I get so invested into helping others achieve their goals is something I've learned about myself and that motivates me to do that more often.
